In her detailed presentation, the official representative of RACUS in Botswana Ms. Elena Molefi, a Russian compatriot, made convincing case in favor of studying in Russia.
Russian higher education offers a wealth of choice from more than 300 medical, engineering, economic and humanities specialties. It is based on the world-renowned school of fundamental and applied science, at the base of which lie the great discoveries of Russian scientists, which determined the course of developments in world science for many centuries ahead.
And what is probably the most important in practical terms, the study of foreign citizens at Russian state universities is up to 80% subsidized by the Government of Russia, making it affordable. The average cost of an academic year is 2500-4000 USD, which is far lower as compared to Europe and North America. The sum includes various social benefits such as accommodation in a student hostel, medical insurance, provision with academic literature and public transport allowances.
In his short speech, the Head of the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Botswana Mr. Oleg Guzik assured the public that the Embassy will give all necessary assistance to the students departing to Russia while obtaining visas and completing legal formalities.
Education is one of the priorities and most advanced fields of cooperation between Russia and Botswana.
